Played Llandaff North at home and won 36-0. Out of 22 player’s that played in this game it was very hard to pick a man of the match as they all played so well, but James Grindell sealed it with a captain’s performance in the centre, the forward’s had a big part in this win where they fought hard in the tight area’s as they battled for possession in the rucks, excellent performances from Will Beeching, Christian Pratt and Hamad Malek

Sunday 26/10/08
Dinas Powys at home.
A wet and cold day at the harlequins you wouldn’t expect a feast of rugby but carrying on from last weeks performance we ran in eight tries unanswered. Some excellent forward play with lots of driving runs from James Lia, Will Beeching, Adam Hakimian and Bradley Careless gave a good platform and tries came for Will Beeching ,Tom Shorey, Adam Hakimian and Steve Mbanza giving a well deserved 28-0 interval lead. The second half saw the same sort of pressure from the forwards and with the weather drying out the ball was spread wide and tries came from Daniel Hart, Tommy Shorey, Steve Mbanza and Jake Donovan. An excellent performance from all the players particularly the forwards who dominated their opponents .
Man of the match award went to Bradley Careless.
Final score 54-0
Sunday 19/10/08
U12’s played Newport High School Boys at home.
An excellent start to the game for St Peter’s, after some fierce rucking the ball was worked wide through several pairs of hands resulting in Daniel Hart running in from 35m for a fine try. An individual try by Tommy Shorey at outside half breaking the line at 30m out and jinking passed two or three more defences to score. Try machine Steve Mbanza capped another fine performance with a typically determined effort giving us a good 21-0 lead . After the break NHSOB’s came back very strongly with sustained pressure scored a well deserved try. Another try for Daniel Hart after some good support work and slick handling gave us a 28-7 lead. A good attitude and a general improvement in the teams fitness showed as St Peter’s finished very strongly with a well deserved try for Tasmanian Devil Jake Donovan. All tries were converted by Tommy Shorey.

Lucky for us back to our fixture list our next game was Glamorgan Wanderers again and a chance for our team to redeem itself, during the week we had an excellent training session taken by full time coach Stuart Baird , some painful truths came out and all the players responded very well.
The game was a hard fought affair with neither side giving an inch, a couple of lapses in concentration resulted in a 14-0 deficit at half time. The second half saw the wanderers continue in the same way that they had finished the first half with another try 21-0. At this stage St Peter’s could have thrown the towel in but instead they stepped up to the task and increased the intensity which resulted in tries for Tom Shorey and Alex Perry. There was a very exciting end to the game with St Peter’s pushing hard for a third try to level the score but the game ended 21-14 but a massive improvement from the week before and a huge positive to take into our next game NHSOB at home Sunday. Thanks again to Stuart for stepping in do to a great session for us which I know all the players enjoyed.
5/10/08
Third game was supposed to be St Joes but their team has unfortunately folded so Glamorgan Wanderers stepped in, we lost the game with a very disappointing result and we were beaten by a very well drilled and organised side.
28/09/08

21/09/08

After heavy forward pressure Jack Beere forced his way over to make the score 10-0 at half time. At the start of the second half another blindside move resulted in a second try for James McLean which was converted by Calllum Sheedy. Two superb individual efforts followed from Callum Sheedy and James McClean, with Sheedy converting both. Llanishen applied lots of pressure throughout the second half but resolute tackling from the Rocks kept them at bay. However, right on the final whistle Llanishen created a nice try which they thoroughly deserved to bring the score back to 19-7. Outstanding performers for St Peter’s were Tonkin and Sheedy who played well when St Peter’s were on top in the first half but also relished the physical side when forced to defend for long periods in the second half.

Rumney 24 St Peter’s 15
Under the circumstances this was a very creditable result. Having been left without a fixture the U-13′s took part in a rigorous 45 minute tackling session at the Harlequins. Rumney were let down by Sully so phoned us up to see if we wanted a game at 11.15 and the 16 boys who were training duly obliged.
Without a number of senior players due to unavailability and injury the lads soon fell 12 – 0 down but an excellent opportunist try from Callum Sheedy just before half-time brought us back into the game. The forwards were playing really well and skipper Jack Beere forced his way over after some excellent driving play. Rumney hit back almost instantly to make it 19 – 10 and crucially had converted two of their tries. St.Peters refused to lay down and continued attacking resulting in a try for Jack Pattison after a neat chip by Sheedy. Sheedy went close with all the conversions but the score was now 19 – 15 with about 15 mins to go. The game could have gone either way and St.Peters tried to press for the win but Rumney managed to close out the game with a late try on the final whistle. There were good performances from the whole pack as always and Lee Ford, Sheedy and Pattison were effective in the backs.

After dominating the semi-final with St Albans St Peter’s led by three points to nil courtesy of a penalty by James Mclean, however, St Alban’s managed to score with virtually the last move of the game to seal victory 7-3.

Sunday 19/10/08
Due to the District tournament being cancelled, the U14’s played Rumney away at their ground.
The Rocks started really well with Aaran Reid (winger) scoring a very early try. Not long after Danny Wardle (full back) went bursting through the line and went on to score the second try. At half time the score was 17-12, withJordan Lane (centre) scoring St Peter’s third try.
The second half saw Rumney scoring their third try making the score 17-15. The Rocks dug in and after a maul close to the line a pop pass was given to the powerhouse Jordan Bishop (prop) to score the next try. Extreme pressure from the Rumney forwards and turn over ball saw Ed Poynter (outside half) give us excellent field position . A scrum was awarded and Sam Parker ( no 8) took the ball up towards the line and was tackled to the ground where he popped the ball up to Will Baird (scrum half) who was in support and carried the ball over to score the final try. With conversions also by Danny Wardle and Jack Huntley throughout the game the final score was 33-17.
The best individual try scored today was Jordan Lane’s when he dummied the player and ran through the gap and stepped the full back to go under the post.
