15th December: Its not often you get to read this result St. Peters II beat Llanishen II today 7-7. Yes Seven All!! Played at Llanishen, the score was tied at 0-0 at the break. Good pressure from the Rocks in the second half saw Paul O’Brien crash over from 50 yards. Llanishen came back at the Rocks with some good passing and running in the second half resulting in a chip and chase for the home team to score and draw level. And that was that apart from the fact that it was a Mallett Cup game and the in the event of a draw the result will be given to the away side. So St. Peters beat Llanishen 7 7!! Result!

1st MOvember: Friday 2nd November – Race Night at the Club. A beer and a bet. A perfect night!
Hi there rocks In case your in a quandary of what to do Saturday. You would do well to comedown and watch the future rocks in action.St. Peters youth are playing Pontyberem in last 32 of the Welsh Cup. The youth are unbeaten in all competitions so far this season, with a team built on strong defence but with a huge talent to cut teams apart. (Just 2 tries scored against us so far)
Newly promoted to the Blues A League, we were hoping to consolidate our position, and maybe hope to reach mid table, but we are now are having far bigger ambitions and may possibly take the league by storm. Last Saturdays performance, with at least 8 call offs, (all possible starters) and a trip to top of the table Treorchy when we knocked them off their perch certainly will raise a few eyebrows. Not only that but we currently have 4 players training with the Wales u 18 squad.
So come on down Saturday 3rd November for the 2.30pm kick off and cheer on the boys. This is the only home game on the Harlequins on Saturday as all the seniors are away. Thanks.

12th July: NEWS!!!
At a meeting of Cardiff City Councils Planning Committee, held on 12th July, it was decided unanimously to support our application for a variation in our planning permission to enable the Club to open longer hours on a permanent basis. This means that, at long last, we are now able to properly open from 9am to 10pm Monday to Thursday, until 11pm on Friday and Saturday and until 10.30pm on Sundays. We have a number of compliance issues we need to abide by as a condition of this variation but nothing too onerous.
It is now up to all Members to utilise the facilities as much as possible but remaining very mindful of the needs of our neighbours. Having attended umpteen planning meetings where we have been unanimously rejected you may at least begin to appreciate that your Committee does make things happen even if it sometimes takes far longer and costs much more than we would wish. This is the planning equivalent of the conversion of St. Paul on the Road to Damascus.
This is a great start to the new season and along with the new pitch puts the ball firmly in your 22 guys.
Vince Nolan
Director of Rugby

17th June: Yesterdays Dinner was a time to sit back and relax after a long season. It was a time to celebrate the hard work and successes of all involved in the club. Many, many thanks to all who made yesterdays Club Dinner such an enjoyable and successful event. It takes a large number of people working extremely hard to make a club such as ours. To name one person here would detract from the work of another, so if you, in any way, contribute to the success of the club of which you should be very proud Thank you. Please do not stop. 13th May: A Superb performance at Tonyrefail where the Rocks scored seven tries (three conversions) to win the game 20-43. Its not often any team / club can say that winning by such a margin does not raise a smile, but on this occasion the Rocks needed eight tries to finish the season with a good chance of promotion to Division Two. Many congratulations to the whole squad of players at St. Peters for cracking season finishing very near the top of the division for the sixth consecutive season continues to show the strength of the club. A huge thanks also to Coaches John Dunleavy and Lee Smith along with Patches Houlahan, Trevvy and Baggsy for masterminding the season. Thanks also to Collette, Quincy, Mike Payne, Joe Dunleavy and Kevin Barry for their match day contributions. Off the pitch there are names too many to mention, Junior Section, Youth Section, Committee and helpers etc. who continue to work tirelessly for the club, its facilities, members and the general development of the club. So now its a few weeks rest before we look forward to season 2012-13. Watch this space for Baseball news and social events during the summer (if we have one) months.

14th April: Three Rocks capped at under 16 level against England Wed 11th April 2012 Report by Matthew Sweeney
The three St Peters representatives in the 45 man Wales U16s Squad all managed to make the cut for the final squad for the Capped International against England on Wednesday at in Wellington College, near Windsor. There have been a number of international games at this Festival already this week with the boys appearing against the USA and France but the England game was the only recognised Full International. St Peters Captain and flanker Jordan Viggers made the starting lineup, while prop Rob Lewis and outside-half Callum Sheedy made an impact from the bench. This is a remarkable achievement for the Club and a great reward for these three talented players who have put a tremendous amount of hard work in over the last few seasons.
Well Done Boys from everyone at St Peters RFC.

22nd March: Message from Tom Nolan, who is leaving us next week to take up a position in Doha Good luck Tom
I would like to thank all of the players, coaches, supporters and committee of St Peters RFC for giving me the opportunity to captain the 1st XV this season. It’s been an honour to captain a team of such quality players that go out week after week to play for each other! I am truly gutted I wont be able to see the season out with the boys but I’m sure if we keep the family mentality and the desire to play for eachother we’ll get that promotion we’ve all worked so hard for. This Saturday will be my final game for now and who better to go out on than our local rivals Llanishen RFC, it will be an emotional game for me personally but what better way to go out than with a win against our local rivals and top of the league (fingers crossed) to finish on a high. I would like to say a special thank you to all the coaching staff who give up their time to help us better ourselves as a team, not an easy job at times!
Finally, a massive good luck to the boys for the final few games of the season, keep up the hard work, play for each other, keep the “family” mentality going and I want to be reading about Div 2 East next season!!
Good luck to everyone and good health. Take Care, Nolan
21st March: Thanks to Kate Bush who sent this email to the site
Jack Whitehall show was on the tv last nite Here are links to two clips from the show involving the boys and the link to the whole show – available for 30 days after the initial showing – which was quite funny, and shows some of the boys in the audience when they actually recorded the rest of the show.
